The estate

Domaine DUVERNAY was created by Georges and Nathalie DUVERNAY in Rully, in the north of the Côte Chalonnaise, in 1973.
Two of their offspring, Dominique and Patricia, are ensuring the domaine's continuity and have been working 12 ha of vines located in two communes, Rully and Mercurey, since 2004. Dominique is the winemaker while Patricia handles sales.
In the vineyards, Dominique carries out ploughing twice a year, a short pruning, the removal of secondary fruit canes and green harvesting, especially for the red wines, in order to control the yields. Harvesting is carried out by machine and the grapes for each plot are vinified separately in temperature-controlled enamel tanks. The wines undergo 10 months' ageing in oak barrels, of which 20% are new.
The white Rullys have the reputation of being nervy and mineral with a distinctive character partly due to the vineyards' high limestone content. The reds are fine and fruity and are distinguished by notes of red fruit (blackcurrants, wild strawberries).
