The estate

Domaine du CLOS SAINT-LOUIS is located in Fixin, a Côte de Nuits village near Dijon. The BERNARD family is an old Burgundy family who, in 1918, bought what used to be known, in Fixin, as the "Clos Bizoutte", as it was renowned as a lovers' meeting place, but it was piously renamed "Clos Saint Louis" in 1950. Philippe BERNARD, from the 4th generation of a wine producing family, took the helm of the domaine in 1995, with his wife, Martine. Their daughter, Virginie, is getting ready to take over and perpetuate the ancestral know-how. Domaine du Clos Saint-Louis includes an old wine grower's house dating from 1634 as well as a hunting lodge built in 1703. The domaine now covers 19 hectares of vineyards, which it owns or leases, in the Bourgogne, Marsannay, Fixin, Fixin 1er Cru, Côte de Nuits Villages and Gevrey-Chambertin appellations.
