The estate

Domaine THEVENOT-LE-BRUN ET FILS is located in Marey-lès-Fussey, in the high-lying area of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The vineyards extend over 3 appellations: Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Hautes Côtes de Beaune and Bourgogne Aligoté.
Created in the early 1960s, Domaine Thévenot-Le-Brun today works 28 hectares of vines, which are all located not far from the winery.
After training as a hydrological engineer, Nicolas Thévenot succeeded his father, Daniel, and his uncle, Jean, in 2009. He represents the 5th generation of the family at the helm.
The entire domaine is planted with tall, wide vines, which are sustainably grown. With the vines planted at a density of 3,000 to 4,000 per hectare, Nicolas Thevenot tries to limit the yields, which never exceed 45 hectolitres per hectare for the reds.
The domaine produces wines from single vineyards, including:
- an original Pinot Beurot or Pinot Gris (white grape variety) wine aged in new barrels.
- Le Clos du Vignon, an iconic wine, produced as a white and a red, from 7 hectares located on the hillside near the former "Lieu Dieu" Abbey and which used to be worked by the abbesses in the 13th century.
