The estate

The "Bousseys" are a high-profile winemaking family in Monthelie. They work 6 ha of vines spread over 8 villages that are among the Côte de Beaune's most famous: Monthelie, Meursault, Volnay, Saint-Romain, Auxey-Duresses, Santenay, Puligny-Montrachet and Pommard.
Eric set up his wine domaine in 1981 and complemented this with wine trading activity (négoce) in 2007. His vines, which are sustainably grown, have average ages of between 15 and 100 years. In terms of soil work, Eric carries out "buttage" (earthing up) in winter, "débuttage" (de-earthing) in spring and ploughing, which prevents soil compaction and the need to use chemical weedkillers. This keeps the soil healthy, living, and uncontaminated with herbicides.
The wines are traditionally aged in oak barrels for one year and bottled after a light filtration. The domaine's wines are long and concentrated with great cellar-ageing potential.
