Domaine Philippe Girard is located on a lovely property in the middle of Savigny-Les-Beaune, a beautiful village not far from Beaune. The village centre, with its 12th century church and 17th century chateau, retains a historic atmosphere.
The Girard family have been wine growers from father to son for over five centuries. Brothers Philippe and Jean-Jacques inherited the family know-how and today each one works vineyards on two separate domaines.
At Domaine Philippe Girard, the succession is assured as Philippe's son, Arnaud, is now working on the estate.
The domaine works 11 hectares using sustainable methods (40% red and 60% white). The highly fragmented vineyards extend over the communes of Savigny les Beaune, Pernand Vergelesses, Aloxe-Corton, Nuits Saint Georges, Pommard and Volnay. Father and son have a love for work well done, they place great importance on the vinification and barrel-ageing of their wines.
