The estate

For Jean GUITON the adventure began in Bligny-les-Beaune in 1975, with 2 hectares of vines worked under a sharecropping agreement. A first vat room was built in 1977, with a cellar and the family home added in 1979. By 1985, the domaine's vineyards had gradually increased to 4.5 hectares lying in the Ladoix, Aloxe-Corton and Bligny-les-Beaune areas.
In 1986, with the addition of the Pernand 1er Cru, Savigny 1er Cru and Beaune 1er Cru appellations, the domaine grew to 10 hectares. A new vat room, which was more spacious and better equipped with stainless steel vats and a temperature control system, was created. An ageing cellar for up to 300 barrels was also constructed in 1989. A few vineyard plots in the Volnay and Pommard appellations were also added. In 2000, Jean's son, Guillaume, joined the domaine bringing with him a dash of daring! Today, he works 11.5 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. The wines are aged for 18 months, entirely in oak barrels, 20% of which are new. Today, Domaine Guiton's wines have become stars on London restaurant scene.
