Domaine Bernard DEFAIX is located in Milly, near Chablis (Yonne). Bernard Defaix, from the fourth generation of a wine producing family, settled here in 1959 with 2 ha. Today, the domaine's vineyards extend over 27 hectares on the left bank of the Serein River: Chablis 1er cru (Côte de Lechet, Les Vaillons and Les Lys), Chablis and Petit Chablis. Bernard's two sons, Sylvain and Didier, are now at the helm of the family estate and are intent on improving the reputation of their wines. In both the vineyards and in the winery, they strive to minimize the impact of their activity on the environment by focusing on a more ecologically-friendly way of working. The estate has been certified organic by Ecocert since 2009.
