The estate

Originally, the MAREY family were fruit growers (apples). In 1973, the company started market-gardening, growing apples, cherries and other small fruit in greenhouses.
The entry into the E.U. of the Iberian countries made apple growing unprofitable, and so, in 1980, the first vines replaced the apple trees and the first bottles of wine appeared in 1986.

The advent of the third generation in 1990 gave birth to Domaine MAREY.
Frédéric MAREY, with his oenologist-technician training, manages the winemaking. His brother, Philippe, oversees the vineyards.
Today the domaine has 21 ha of vineyards in different appellations in the Côte de Nuits (Gevrey-Chambertin, Aloxe-Corton) and the Hautes Côtes de Nuits. The domaine has continued with, and developed, its fruit and vegetable growing activity, which today occupies 30 hectares of land. Here, the production is cherries and vine peaches, as well as market gardening with lamb's lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries and melons cultivated in greenhouses. All of their production is sustainably-grown.
